To become crystal clear about what your pictures should look like we must first talk about your business, big picture goals, product offerings, target audience, style, personality, and marketing. This in-depth meeting will be the foundation for your photo shoot, and together we design or refresh your perfect brand.
We will also talk about locations, what to wear, hair & makeup, what to bring, and how to prepare for your photoshoot. You will come away with all the answers, and feel fully prepared and excited for your shoot!
STEP 2: THE PHOTOSHOOT

I firmly believe there is no such thing as photogenic. Photogenic simply means comfortable in front of the camera, and it’s my job to help you feel that way. I will walk you through every expression and pose you right down to your pinky.
We’ll be looking at the back of my camera throughout the shoot, so you will see exactly what we are creating. This is a collaboration, and I want you to LOVE your pictures throughout the whole process.

Did I mention that professional makeup styling is included in your session? Beauty coach, makeup artist and licensed esthetician, Mags Cathey will be on hand throughout the shoot to make you feel beautiful, in a YOU WAY.
We’re not here to make you look like someone else. It’s super important that you are happy with your makeup or you won’t be happy with your brand.

Each shoot is customized to serve your goals, brand style and marketing. I’ll be keeping track of what you need throughout the shoot, so you don’t even have to worry about it.
We offer in studio and location shoots so you get exactly what you need for your brand and marketing.
STEP 3: YOUR IMAGES IN ACTION

About a week after your photoshoot, we will meet on a video call to look at each of your images and talk about how to use them. You will receive a downloadable copy of your custom branding guide, with ideas about how to use your images in your marketing.
The key to a successful photoshoot is knowing how to use your images to attract clients, sales, and engagement.
Clients can also opt to create together a 1-page marketing plan.

I’ll walk you through the process, and get a general idea about your business and marketing needs. We’ll talk about packages and pricing and then set up your Branding Deep Dive 90-minute Zoom call. After the Deep Dive, we’ll have a totally clear view about next steps.
I don’t live in California, how can we work together?
- Fly to LA for your photoshoot! I have clients fly or drive to Los Angeles from all over the country. About 50% of my clients are NOT from the LA area.
- The Branding Deep Dive is like magic for your businesses. Having clarity about where you are headed, who you want to attract, and how you want to market helps you to streamline everything you’re doing.
- A few times a year, I host specialty location shoots around the country. If you have connections to other business owners in your area who are also interested in working with me, we can schedule a trip to your area.
- Take a course! Jump on over to the SHOP page and browse through my eCourses.
This seems like an extravagance…
Connecting with your customers is never an extravagance. As a business owner, more people will meet you online than in person. Whether it’s on your website, social media, or in print, you need to show up as yourself in your marketing. People want to spend their money with business owners they know, like, and trust. Do your customers know you? If you work for someone else or are looking for a new job, you will need a minimum of three images – a business formal, business casual, and weekend look for your personal social media channels.
I’m just starting up my company and I don’t know where to start…
There’s so much to think about when starting your company. How can you understand your brand when you’re not all that sure about your business model? Together, we solidify your goals, customer journey, product offerings, pricing strategy, target clients, marketing strategies, and game plan. Your brand style and needed images will become super clear after we walk through all these basic steps.
What do sessions cost?
Because our sessions are customizable to your specific business goals, we’ll need to chat and figure out together exactly what you need. Once we decide what you are aiming for, I am happy to deliver a customized quote. Just to give you an idea, our sessions start at $1,499.
I’m worried about not looking like myself. Is that normal?
YES it’s totally normal – and don’t worry, we aren’t here to make you look like someone else. We know you want to look great, like yourself, and most importantly, like the perfect representative for your business. In order to be confident presenting yourself to the world, you need to LOVE your portraits. This is your session and we want to get to know you so we can make you feel amazing and remind you that you are a powerhouse.
I’m uncomfortable being the face of my company…
I’m right there with you! But over time, I realized that the thing that sets my company apart from the rest is ME. Your clients need you, your vision, your expertise, your taste. You set up your company, people, products, and process the way you did for a reason. Sometimes you have to get out of your own way and stand proudly out in front.

Should I lose the 10 pounds before my shoot?
Your business isn’t waiting for you to lose 10, 30, 50 pounds, and neither should you. I get where you’re coming from, but guess what? My job is for you to look at the back of my camera and see yourself looking great. With my 10+ years of experience, I can pose the pounds away.
Can you help me with what to wear?
Absolutely! While I’m not a professional stylist (but I know some great ones!), I do have an eye for what works on camera. I will walk you through the whole process, but the good news is that it’s not as challenging as you might think. You successfully get dressed for different kinds of events every day. What would you wear on stage? What would you wear to a client meeting? With a few easy rules about what to avoid, you can easily find awesome options in your own closet, or with a quick trip to your favorite clothing store.
What happens if I’m not in love with the photos?
First, our goal is to make you ecstatic about your images. Second, we work hard to ensure that prior to the shoot, you have everything you need and have opportunities to make changes to your hair and makeup. For that reason, we will not re-shoot if you want to re-do your hair and makeup. Third, if upon thorough review, we come to the conclusion that I have not delivered the promised results, we will work together to find a solution.
*spoiler alert – once the photos are delivered to you, there are no refunds or reshoots.
I don’t own a company, is this still for me?
Looking for work and creating a personal brand are really similar. Essentially, you need to communicate who you are and what your special sauce is to people who are hiring or have the power to promote you. Are you the organizer, the leader, the big picture thinker, or the detail person? Presenting your superpowers means employers get exactly who they need while you get a job that you will love and be good at. Your images should represent your personality and the energy you bring to your work and team.
